Electric Parade

Electric Parade is a vivid celebration of energy and movement in the JeanElton Bowls & Platters Collection. At 17 inches wide, its expansive surface becomes a stage for dancing colors and darting patterns—an abstract carnival of shapes that tumble and swirl across the inner basin. The design pulses outward from a central point, as if the entire platter is vibrating with sound and color. Framed by a bold black-and-white checkered rim, the composition draws the eye in and anchors the exuberance within a classic visual rhythm. Dashes, dots, zigzags, spirals, and stripes interlock with a patchwork of colors ranging from indigo to citrus, magenta to teal. Despite the visual intensity, the arrangement feels cohesive and intentional—each element in dialogue with the next, never descending into chaos. Both the interior and exterior are sealed with a transparent glossy glaze, enhancing the saturation of each hue while allowing the fine details of the hand-drawn patterns to remain crisp and tactile. The surface is smooth to the touch but visually textured, offering new discoveries from every angle.The work is fired first to approximately 1800 degrees F, after which any remaining fine alterations are made, and the surface treatment is applied by hand by the artist. A second firing to about 2100 degrees F completes the process, ensuring its durability and artistic integrity.This piece bears the JeanElton signature on its underside and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), both of which display its catalogue reference.
