Vespers in Bronze

There is a richness that only emerges as light grows low — when gold abandons its brightness and deepens into something older, warmer, more secretive. This piece holds that register entirely. The glaze carries the tone of antiqued bronze and tarnished gilt, dark honey pooling where the form descends, then warming to a burnished glow along the rising flanks. Light travels rather than rests, gathering in the gentle ripple of the interior and catching at the rim in flecks of recovered brilliance. The hand of the artist lingers in that restless surface, a topography that turns reflection into movement and keeps the eye wandering.

The work is fired first to approximately 1800 degrees F, after which any remaining fine alterations are made, and the surface treatment is applied by hand by the artist. A second firing to about 2100 degrees F completes the process, ensuring its durability and artistic integrity.
