Equinox Tides is a contemplative work in the JeanElton EllipticalVessel Collection. One face bursts with radiating arcs of vermillion, marigold, and onyx, like a celestial sunrise partially eclipsed — anchored within a soft periwinkle sky dotted by precise constellations and sweeping currents. The composition evokes the equilibrium of sea and sky, motion and stillness, rhythm and disruption. The opposite face deepens this tension: curved black ribbons and sharp geometric bands intersect across a layered field of quiet color — whispering of storm maps, ocean depths, and lunar pulls. The surface design, hand-painted by the artist, combines bold graphic forms with a layered undercurrent of brushstrokes and detail, making this vessel a meditation on cosmic and oceanic symmetry. With an 9-inch height and 21-inch width, this piece is especially well-suited to larger spaces— executive offices, elegant hotel lobbies, cruise ship lounges, or grand living rooms—where it invites attention without overpowering. The work is fired first to approximately 1800 degrees F, after which any remaining fine alterations are made, and the surface treatment is applied by hand by the artist. A second firing to about 2100 degrees F completes the process, ensuring its durability and artistic integrity.
