Classic, strong lines create the look of this timeless and majestic piece.
A Statement-scale OvalVase finished in a Metallic & Cream Line & Form surface treatment, in a Gold & Metallic color palette. 17 inches tall, 7 inches wide, 6 inches deep, weighing 5 pounds, with a matte interior and a matte exterior. Line & Form pieces use deliberate linear marks — incisions, applied lines, or directional strokes — to define the visual structure of the piece.

The Story of the Work
Golden Spike commands attention through the stark authority of its linear composition—bold metallic lines divide the cream surface into vertical panels with the decisive geometry of architectural detailing. The golden metallic strokes catch and hold light, creating luminous pathways against the matte warmth of the cream ground in a contrast that feels both ancient and thoroughly modern. The design evokes the ceremonial precision of a scepter or the structural elegance of Art Deco ironwork, lending the vessel a regal bearing that justifies its majestic name.
This work belongs to the JeanElton OvalVase Collection, distinguished by its elliptical footprint and the gentle warping that creates asymmetrical curves when viewed from different angles. The tall, commanding proportions of this piece amplify the vertical thrust of the linear design, while the form's curvature causes the metallic lines to shift in width and brilliance as they travel around the vessel, adding optical depth to the geometric composition.
The work is fired first to approximately 1800 degrees F, after which any remaining fine alterations are made, and the surface treatment is applied by hand by the artist. A second firing to about 2100 degrees F completes the process, ensuring its durability and artistic integrity.
This piece bears the JeanElton signature on its underside and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), both of which display its catalogue reference.
