Oval Fireworks

Oval Fireworks erupts with celebratory energy—a dense constellation of color bursts across the dark surface like a night sky ablaze with pyrotechnic splendor. Warm oranges, vivid yellows, electric blues, and deep greens arc and explode in every direction, each cluster of brushwork capturing the momentary brilliance of a firework at its apex. The all-over composition creates a visual spectacle that is simultaneously chaotic and harmonious, with the dark ground providing the necessary depth for each burst of color to achieve its full radiant impact.
This work belongs to the JeanElton OvalVase Collection, distinguished by its elliptical cross-section that creates an elegant, softened silhouette. As the largest piece in the Oval Fireworks arrangement, the generous proportions provide a commanding canvas for the explosive surface treatment, with the form's curvature creating a panoramic display that wraps the viewer in color.
The work is fired first to approximately 1800 degrees F, after which any remaining fine alterations are made, and the surface treatment is applied by hand by the artist. A second firing to about 2100 degrees F completes the process, ensuring its durability and artistic integrity.
