A single horizontal band of intricate pattern commands the center of this pure white form, creating a striking visual pause around the vessel's gentle curves. The decorative strip reads like ancient mosaic work or precious inlay—small geometric shapes in deep burgundy, rich teal, warm amber, and black create a rhythmic sequence that suggests both contemporary design and timeless craft traditions. Above and below this concentrated zone of color, the ceramic surface remains untouched, allowing the eye to rest in expansive white planes. The elliptical form gently compresses from front to back, creating subtle dimensional shifts as one moves around the piece. At seven inches high, the work achieves perfect balance between intimate scale and confident presence.

The work is fired first to approximately 1800 degrees F, after which any remaining fine alterations are made, and the surface treatment is applied by hand by the artist. A second firing to about 2100 degrees F completes the process, ensuring its durability and artistic integrity.
