Perennial Promenade
Stroll past a perennial garden in full bloom!
A RectangularVessel finished in a Floral Line & Form surface treatment, in a Black & Orange color palette. 5 inches tall, 15 inches wide, 6 inches deep, weighing 3 pounds, with a semi-matte interior and a semi-matte exterior. Line & Form pieces use deliberate linear marks — incisions, applied lines, or directional strokes — to define the visual structure of the piece.

The Story of the Work
Perennial Promenade invites the eye along a vibrant garden path, where bold blooms in sun-warmed oranges, deep blues, and earthy golds unfurl against a richly layered ground. The artist's precise brushwork renders each petal and leaf with deliberate clarity, while the warm coral exterior cradles the composition like fertile earth embracing a flourishing bed. There is a joyful abundance here — color layered upon color, form upon form — yet the design never crowds; each flower claims its space with quiet confidence.
A member of the JeanElton RectangularVessel Collection, this piece showcases the distinctive open form that has become a signature of the collection. With gently upturned edges that rise like the prow of a vessel at sea, the rectangular silhouette frames the hand-painted interior, creating a natural stage for the artist's detailed surface work. The interplay of architectural form and organic decoration gives each RectangularVessel a dynamic tension — structure meeting spontaneity in fired clay.
The work is fired first to approximately 1800 degrees F, after which any remaining fine alterations are made, and the surface treatment is applied by hand by the artist. A second firing to about 2100 degrees F completes the process, ensuring its durability and artistic integrity.
This piece bears the JeanElton signature on its underside and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), both of which display its catalogue reference.
