Night Bloom

Night Bloom is a bold and whimsical work in the JeanElton SailVase (SV) Collection, celebrating the mystery and energy of nocturnal flowering. Vivid orange blossoms unfurl against a matte black background, their petals alive with motion and emotion. Arched green stems and sweeping purple leaves curve like dancers in moonlight, while spirals, zigzags, and dots evoke the pulse of an unseen rhythm.

The asymmetric, sail-like form adds lift and momentum to the design, as though the entire piece is caught mid-bloom—stretching outward with vitality and confidence. Every element, from the fine white details to the soft layering of color, is applied by hand, building a textured composition that invites closer inspection. The matte interior provides a quiet contrast, enhancing the intensity of the outer surface treatment without distraction.

The work is fired first to approximately 1800 degrees F, after which any remaining fine alterations are made, and the surface treatment is applied by hand by the artist. A second firing to about 2100 degrees F completes the process, ensuring its durability and artistic integrity.

This piece bears the JeanElton signature on its underside and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), both of which display its catalogue reference.
