Sweet Tooth II

Sweet Tooth is a diminutive, open-hearted work whose low, rounded form and single curving lip suggest something freshly poured and paused mid-flow. At barely five inches, the piece draws the eye downward into a luminous interior where light pools softly against the matte clay. The organic rim dips and rises with casual grace, lending an endearing asymmetry — part gesture, part punctuation — that gives this small form an outsized presence.

This work belongs to the JeanElton TallVase Collection, the studio's most prolific family of forms. Rising vertically from a compact footprint, each TallVase commands attention through form alone — the unadorned surface inviting the eye to follow every curve, fold, and shadow as it travels around the piece. The gentle taper and organic rim give each piece a quiet individuality within a consistent, commanding silhouette.

The work is fired first to approximately 1800 degrees F, after which any remaining fine alterations are made, and the surface treatment is applied by hand by the artist. A second firing to about 2100 degrees F completes the process, ensuring its durability and artistic integrity.
