The Story of the Work
Color here takes the form of a celebration — bands and blooms of saturated hue rendered through the airbrush in graduated layers that pulse with solar energy. Yellows and oranges build toward radiant crescendos, offset by passages of cooler tone that provide just enough contrast to make the warmth sing. The effect is festive without being frivolous, luminous without being harsh. There is something almost orbital about the composition: the colors do not simply appear but seem to rotate around the form, each pass revealing new warmth.
The Prism_Airbrush surface treatment is built on the quiet precision of the airbrush — glazes laid down in soft, dissolving layers that create an atmospheric dreaminess across the form. Colors emerge and blend without hard edges, conjuring fields of shifting light that give each piece a luminous, almost otherworldly presence.
The work is fired first to approximately 1800 degrees F, after which any remaining fine alterations are made, and the surface treatment is applied by hand by the artist. A second firing to about 2100 degrees F completes the process, ensuring its durability and artistic integrity.
This piece bears the JeanElton signature on its underside and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), both of which display its catalogue reference.
