The Story of the Work
There is a quality of late afternoon light in this piece that belongs entirely to the JeanElton airbrush — tones of golden yellow and warm amber bleeding softly into rose and copper, each transition as imperceptible as the shift from afternoon to evening. The atmosphere is one of suspended stillness, a sky poised at the edge of dusk, color diffusing across the ceramic surface as if the form itself were absorbing the last warmth of the day. The haze in the name is not imprecision but atmosphere: everything here is felt rather than stated, beautiful in the way of things that do not announce themselves.
The Prism_Airbrush surface treatment is built on the quiet precision of the airbrush — glazes laid down in soft, dissolving layers that create an atmospheric dreaminess across the form. Colors emerge and blend without hard edges, conjuring fields of shifting light that give each piece a luminous, almost otherworldly presence.
The work is fired first to approximately 1800 degrees F, after which any remaining fine alterations are made, and the surface treatment is applied by hand by the artist. A second firing to about 2100 degrees F completes the process, ensuring its durability and artistic integrity.
This piece bears the JeanElton signature on its underside and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), both of which display its catalogue reference.
