A Compact-scale TallVase finished in an Airbrush with Overlay Bold Color surface treatment, in a Multi-Color / Orange color palette. 9 inches tall, 9 inches wide, 9 inches deep, weighing 4 pounds, with a matte interior and a matte exterior. The Story of the Work
The Intersections series organizes its surface around the act of crossing — bold bands and planes of color meeting at angles, layering over one another, generating new visual information wherever they intersect. The geometry here is deliberate without being rigid: lines meet and overlap, colors collide and harmonize simultaneously, and the eye is drawn through a composition that rewards both quick impression and sustained attention. These pieces capture a dynamic moment — not the crossing itself, but the vibrant consequence of it.
The Prism_AirbrushPlus surface treatment begins with color at atmospheric scale — broad, luminous fields built through the airbrush, where hues shift and blend with the seamless continuity that only that tool can achieve. What sets this treatment apart is the second layer: hand-applied marks, lines, and forms that respond directly to the underlying wash. Geometry answers flow; precision answers atmosphere. Each piece is simultaneously a color event and a compositional act, its surface the visible record of two distinct modes of making in dialogue.
The work is fired first to approximately 1800 degrees F, after which any remaining fine alterations are made, and the surface treatment is applied by hand by the artist. A second firing to about 2100 degrees F completes the process, ensuring its durability and artistic integrity.
This piece bears the JeanElton signature on its underside and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), both of which display its catalogue reference.
