Pristine Portal I

Pristine Portal is a study in passage and pause. A single circular opening pierces the vessel wall, transforming the form from container into threshold — framing space, channeling light, inviting the eye through rather than merely into. The undulating rim above echoes this sense of movement, its organic peaks and valleys forming a skyline of soft geometry. The matte exterior absorbs light evenly while the interior gathers and reflects it, so that the portal itself becomes a lens through which two tonal worlds meet.

This work belongs to the JeanElton TallVase Collection, the studio's most prolific family of forms. Rising vertically from a compact footprint, each TallVase commands attention through form alone — the unadorned surface inviting the eye to follow every curve, fold, and shadow as it travels around the piece. The gentle taper and organic rim give each piece a quiet individuality within a consistent, commanding silhouette.

The work is fired first to approximately 1800 degrees F, after which any remaining fine alterations are made, and the surface treatment is applied by hand by the artist. A second firing to about 2100 degrees F completes the process, ensuring its durability and artistic integrity.

This piece bears the JeanElton signature on its underside and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), both of which display its catalogue reference.
