Bold Fold I

Bold Fold is a striking work in the JeanElton TallVase (TV) Collection, where dramatic movement and radiant sheen converge. Its sharply folded contours evoke a sense of deliberate tension, like the pressed crease of a sculptural fabric caught mid-sway. Coated in a luminous metallic gloss—both inside and out—the piece plays with light and shadow as it shifts throughout the day, emphasizing its angularity and depth.

A single round portal punctuates the surface, adding a moment of openness amid the structure’s bold geometry. This subtle void invites curiosity, as though offering a glimpse through to something just beyond perception.

The work is fired first to approximately 1800 degrees F, after which any remaining fine alterations are made, and the surface treatment is applied by hand by the artist. A second firing to about 2100 degrees F completes the process, ensuring its durability and artistic integrity.
