Golden Waves III

Golden Waves is a striking work that embodies fluidity and radiance in equal measure. Its gently undulating rim mirrors the rhythmic motion of waves, while the satin gold finish enveloping both interior and exterior catches the light with a soft, luminous sheen. Sculpted with subtle irregularity, the form blends organic movement with refined craftsmanship, creating an interplay between structure and fluidity — the shifting warmth of sunlight on water made tangible in ceramic.

This work belongs to the JeanElton TallVase Collection, the studio's most prolific family of forms. Rising vertically from a compact footprint, each TallVase presents its hand-painted surface as a continuous panorama — the decoration wrapping fully around the form, revealing new details with every turn. The gentle taper and organic rim give each piece a quiet individuality within a consistent, commanding silhouette.

The work is fired first to approximately 1800 degrees F, after which any remaining fine alterations are made, and the surface treatment is applied by hand by the artist. A second firing to about 2100 degrees F completes the process, ensuring its durability and artistic integrity.
