The Story of the Work
Like light spilling across a quiet shore: Golden Horizons is a meditative work in the JeanElton TallVase (TV) Collection. Its surface is defined by a soft matte creamy white exterior, gently rising to a scalloped rim that opens to reveal a richly reflective interior. The golden satin finish inside evokes the glint of early morning sun along a still coastline—subtle, warm, and expansive.
The contrast between the matte exterior and the luminous interior creates a quiet tension, one that draws the eye inward. The form’s upward lift and rounded symmetry add a sense of stability and peace, while the gentle curves at the rim provide a lyrical, horizon-like break—suggesting calm skies above a golden sea.
The work is fired first to approximately 1800 degrees F, after which any remaining fine alterations are made, and the surface treatment is applied by hand by the artist. A second firing to about 2100 degrees F completes the process, ensuring its durability and artistic integrity.
This piece bears the JeanElton signature on its underside and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), both of which display its catalogue reference.
