Vivid Mosaic IX

Vivid_Mosaic organizes the full intensity of the JeanElton color palette into a mosaic-like composition -- individual zones of vivid, saturated hue assembled across the striped ground in a structure that is simultaneously energetic and ordered. The effect suggests the luminous density of stained glass, but rendered in ceramic glaze with the loose, hand-applied touch that places it firmly in the studio rather than the cathedral.

The Prism_StripesPlus surface treatment is built on the discipline of the stripe -- bold, vertical bands of color establishing a strong rhythmic structure across the full height of the form. A second design element is then layered over that striped ground, introducing a focal point of expressive energy that lifts the composition from pure pattern into visual conversation.

The work is fired first to approximately 1800 degrees F, after which any remaining fine alterations are made, and the surface treatment is applied by hand by the artist. A second firing to about 2100 degrees F completes the process, ensuring its durability and artistic integrity.

This piece bears the JeanElton signature on its underside and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), both of which display its catalogue reference.
