Xanthous Garden I

Xanthous Garden unfolds a warm profusion of golden blooms against a richly layered ground. Sunflowers, dahlias, and stylized petals in amber, saffron, and deep gold emerge from dark foliage with the confident vitality of a garden at peak season. Vivid accents in coral, blue, and green weave through the composition, lending depth and rhythm to a palette dominated by warmth. The effect is at once generous and ordered — abundant color held within a deliberate hand.

This work belongs to the JeanElton TallVase Collection, the studio's most prolific family of forms. Rising vertically from a compact footprint, each TallVase presents its hand-painted surface as a continuous panorama — the decoration wrapping fully around the form, revealing new details with every turn. The gentle taper and organic rim give each piece a quiet individuality within a consistent, commanding silhouette.

The work is fired first to approximately 1800 degrees F, after which any remaining fine alterations are made, and the surface treatment is applied by hand by the artist. A second firing to about 2100 degrees F completes the process, ensuring its durability and artistic integrity.
