Its undulating rim and airy form evoke the movement of water, while a joyful parade of hand-painted fish darts across the surface in vibrant colors and quirky expressions. Each fish seems to carry a distinct personality, creating a celebratory underwater scene that charms and entertains.

The matte exterior is finished in a gentle wash of oceanic blue, giving the illusion of light refracted through water, while the scalloped edge mimics the rhythm of waves breaking at the surface. The interior, also matte, echoes the color of calm seas, completing the aquatic illusion.

The work is fired first to approximately 1800 degrees F, after which any remaining fine alterations are made, and the surface treatment is applied by hand by the artist. A second firing to about 2100 degrees F completes the process, ensuring its durability and artistic integrity.
