Sunstripe Sonata

Sunstripe Sonata is a radiant work in the JeanElton TallVase (TV) Collection. The bold geometry of the form is enlivened by a sunburst of yellow, animated with playful marks, rising dots, zigzag pulses, and syncopated lines. A deep matte violet interior anchors the exuberance of the exterior, creating a striking interplay between light and shadow, warmth and depth.

The asymmetry of the cut rim adds to the sense of improvisation, like a melodic phrase reaching its final note. At the base, a black circle offers a visual counterpoint—a grounding pause in the bright composition. Each detail is hand-painted by the artist, and the entire piece is unified by its joyful energy and confident color.

The work is fired first to approximately 1800 degrees F, after which any remaining fine alterations are made, and the surface treatment is applied by hand by the artist. A second firing to about 2100 degrees F completes the process, ensuring its durability and artistic integrity.

This piece bears the JeanElton signature on its underside and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), both of which display its catalogue reference.
