Paisley Carousel

Paisley Carousel is a jubilant work in the JeanElton TallVase (TV) Collection. Bands of paisley and pattern encircle the surface like a spinning carnival ride, each one brimming with detailed motifs, hand-painted flourishes, and saturated colors. The visual energy builds from bottom to top in rhythmic layers—reds, purples, greens, blues—each tier pulsing with its own distinct cadence, yet harmonizing with the whole.

Despite the abundance of pattern, the composition holds together with playful restraint. The matte finish on both the exterior and interior softens the exuberance, allowing light to rest gently on the surface. The form itself, upright and elegant, provides just enough structure to hold the swirling drama, like a carousel pole anchoring a spinning ride.

The work is fired first to approximately 1800 degrees F, after which any remaining fine alterations are made, and the surface treatment is applied by hand by the artist. A second firing to about 2100 degrees F completes the process, ensuring its durability and artistic integrity.

This piece bears the JeanElton signature on its underside and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), both of which display its catalogue reference.
